Wot???? Kite Runner?? I jus can't imagine somone going ga-ga over this silly book..I read it sometime bac n believe me it wasa junk..If i faintly remember ,The story has smething like two guys..running after kites..n one is so god damn jealous tat he wud snub the other guy..n this in the backgrnd of an Afghan war..EEEEKS!!! I think most of the authors are smitten by this afghan n WTC crash after 9/11..It was jus another run in te mill kinds..dont even watse ur time reading leave alone buying it..
Shruthi?? wot happened to ur taste? u bought this buk eh for goddamn 300 bucks?? i wud never read this buk even if it was gifted to me for free..

Read the book a month ago and I must say I loved it thoroughly...
I loved the whole story except the part where Amir learns about hassan being the illegitimate son of baba.. I think it was unnecessary...In the end he goes back to get hassan only after he learns about the bitter truth.. so he ended up atoning for his father's sins and not his's... dont you think??

hmm..I loved the buk more so coz it was frank on face..The beauty of the story was that the narrator was not a hero..n was a very normal fellaw n not afraid to reveal his flaws..
I think i was so used to read buks with the narrator as hero tat i was irritated at times for some of the actions of Amir..But,i think the buk scores here!! n it wudnt hav scored such an impact if the story was told from Hassan's view..

Well i am usually too lazy to comment by i dont know who this wise ass anonymous is who seems to discard the book without giving it a second though.. actually the moment i read your comment Mr. Anonymous. i didnt think u were worth it.. but am too angry not to be able to say anything.. if you dont like it, i guess that speaks about your bad taste not my sisters for one and about the fact that you like only cheap trash like harold robbins or something.... and hello u are not the only educated aware guy/girl around to link this book to afghan and WTC crash.. actually ur analogy to these incidents only speaks about your ignorance about the book.. so the next time you want to pass on some wise ass comment.. make it a comment to read the book and if u still dont like it i suggest u just keep ur trap shut! (since u are a weirdo!)

Hi guys, this is another anonymous writer. not the original one whom Ms.Preethi Ramanan has given such rave comments...

But i really have to say that the book is languid in the writing style and all that, extremely easy to follow and one can relate to it...but the subject matter does not have much of consequence anyway..

Some of the books that i would rate above Kite Runner anyday are

1. Kane and Abel(Jeffery Archer)
2. God Father (Mario Puzo)
3. The alchemist (Paulo Cohelo)
4. Losing My virginity (Richard Branson)
5. If tomorrow Comes (Late Mr.Sheldon)
6. Day of the Jackal (Forsyth)
7. The art of Warfare (Tsun Su)
8. Marketing Warfare (forgot who wrote it)
9. Rainmaker (Grisham)
10. In search of Excellence (Tom Peters)

I have consciously included many genres here, to avoid some scathing remarks from Ms.Preethi Ramanan (my wife) about my taste in books..
